My role:
The stage designer, pattern and animation of the fan.
This program is based on an ancient tragic love story in China - namely "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai". It's a stage by water and device. I try to use this fan device to create an atmosphere on the scene. The climax of the story is reached to show this sad and beautiful love story with the interaction of dancers and fans.

WHY FAN？
I decided to use the implied meaning of fan - "open" and "close" to
symbolize the reunion and departure of the couple. The reflection of the of the water surface of the West Lake is used to connect the open fan and the reflection to form a complete circle, symbolizing their perfect love. When the fan is "closed", the symbol is forced to separate.
SAD LOVE STORY
In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Zhu Yingtai was a lady of great family. She dressed as a man and studied in the college. And she fell in deep love with Liang Shanbo in the process of learning, who lived in the same room.
Zhu Yingtai was forced to marry someone else because of the destruction of the young master of the evil forces. Liang Shanbo fought for nothing and died of depression. Zhu passed the tomb of Liang on the day of her marriage. The tomb collapsed and split during the worship. Zhu Yingtai jumped into the tomb, then a pair of colorful butterflies appeared in the tomb, and both of them flew awa
