<sub>"Southern writers" refers to a group of writers who have come from the Chinese mainland to Hong Kong since 1949. Due to their different historical and cultural contexts, local memories, and personal experiences, their imagination and narrative have taken on a unique and different face, profoundly influencing and shaping Hong Kong literature.
"Flowers of the South" selects the most representative works of 26 "writers of the South" to visualize the data sculpture, visualizes the data sculpture as a "flowers" metaphor for the success of these writers in the land of Hong Kong, that is, flowering and fruit. The project constructs this set of data sculptures by mining the space-time context (including historical and spatiotemporal data sets) in thousands of characters and then combines the data set with the spatiotemporal coordinates of the author's personal life experiences.


「南來作家」是指自20世紀三四十年代起，自內地「南來」香港的作家群體，由於這些作家所處的不同歷史文化語境、鄉土記憶及個人經歷，其想像與敘事呈現出獨特而精彩的面貌，深刻影響並參與塑造了香港文學。</sub>

<sub>本作品系中國美術學院、清华美术学院的藝術家与其团队與香港文學舘聯合進行的跨學科創作項目，我們選擇了最具代表性的24位「南來作家」，對他們的作品文本進行多維度、多模型語義分析，挖掘萬千文字中的時空脈絡，建立包含歷時性與共時性的數據網路。基於這些語義數據與作家個人生平經歷中的時空座標，我們構建了一組3D數據雕塑，在先進計算機圖形學的映射下，這組雕塑形似一朵朵「花」。香港「南來作家」往往經歷了身份的斷裂和重組，這或許形塑了他們作品中獨特的敘事時空、故事建構與身份母題。不同作者的「花」因而呈現出綺麗的差異性。這些由數據構成的「南來之花」具有迷人的外觀，同時創造觀看這些文學之花的新的視角。

「南來之花」不僅創造了獨特視覺景觀，其中語料統計和梳理的過程更與文本素材息息相關，而信息可視化的最終呈現，是文學研究與視覺藝術在媒體間性中的動態平衡——這是我們此次跨界嘗試最重要的意義所在：作為一種模型和方法，耦合數字藝術與文學內涵之間的跨界共通之處，探索信息技術与文學研究的融合生態。</sub>
